Happy Birthday My Roo Roo

My Roo turned 3 today. There is some things I just wanted to remember about being 2. He is such a sweet boy, he will get his "baby book" out and look at all the pictures. There are two with me and him, one has me kissing him and he thinks this is so sweet he gets a sweet voice and says "look my mommy is kissing me she loves me". About a week ago he was looking thru his book and Christopher and I were talking about when I was pregnant with him. About how big my tummy was when he was in there. I told him they had to cut him out (I had c-sections with both kids). He got all serious, looked at me and said "are you ok with that". It was so funny. I told him I guess so.
He comes and hugs us and wants to sit with us under the covers. He is still a good sleeper. Every now and then he will get up before us on the weekend and want to snuggle in the bed with us.

Christopher is in a Christmas program at school next month, he is really excited about it. He is really into his I-pod, he plays it all the time. Christopher still wants to sit with us alot, and hugs us. I'm sure that will not go on to much longer, he is getting older. He is now 8.

The Joys of Fall

I need to be writing, I should be writing. We are slow at my work now so I really don't have an excuse to not be writing.
My husband is now laid off, he is taking it badly. I would be better if it was a downsizing decision rather than the government just not hiring him on. They only hired people with military backgrounds to fill the positions, some of who have never done the job before in their life. His job went from being contracted out to being civil service. Which is suppose to be better unless you don't get a job. The way they have to apply is crazy. There is this web site that you have to fill out a resume on and nominate yourself for the job. If you do not have specific key words in your resume then you do not get selected for the first round hoops you have to jump thru, and he did not get selected based on these key words. He does start getting unemployment tomorrow, but it is way off from what we are use to making. There is a job opening where his mom works, but they take the money that would buy your insurance there and put it to your 401k account. We buy insurance where I work, thank goodness. So that puts him at making about the same as his unemployment pays. No wonder no one in this country wants to work, you can get the same amount of money sitting at home as you can working why on earth would you want to go out and do something for what you can get for free.

Christopher's Birthday was Saturday. We had a small party for him which turned out well. He got lots of Ben 10 stuff that he wanted and my old I pod touch. We also took a trip with our friends to Myrtle Beach. We had a good time didn't spend much money either. My husband stayed home so was just my friend, her son and niece along with my kids. We played on the beach and in the pool. Christopher spent the night of his birthday at his friends house. When I picked him up he cried. I kept pestering him for what was wrong. He finally told us that no one had touched him in any way(I so fear this), but that they yelled at each other most of the time that he was there. No one yelled at him but the family yelled at each other. We are involved with this family quite a bit. They are in our grade, same cub scout den, same soccer team so we see them all the time.

Zack is talking all the time saying such funny things. When we left the pool the first day he said it was all his fault while crying. We told him it was not all his fault, then he would say it is his fault. So sad but him saying it was funny. He gets that from his dad who wile we are arguing will say its ok it's all his fault being sarcastic.
I am ready for fall and fall pictures, I'm afraid we will not have many leaved left my this weekend. We have free tickets to the circus and then there is a fall fest at my grandmothers nursing home that we will be going to.

Flooding

I just received an email about the flooding in Nashville, and another for the Opry Hotel. It is craziness. We have been to the Opry Hotel many, many time for Christmas, in fact Mikie stayed there just a few weeks ago for his friends bachelor party. Clarksville is just a few miles down river from Nashville got no media attention at all. This is the town in which I work, which is right next to the river.
We left early on Monday and didn't come in on Tuesday except for 1 person. We had someone who called and called about putting a decal on her car, she was upset there was no one there to do it. Finally they called in a guy just to sit at the body shop and answer the phone, there was no getting here unless you knew the very back way around. Most people wouldn't know how to get here that way, we were surrounded by water, they wouldn't let anyone in the parking lot. If I was here and answering the phone when that lady wanted to come and have something done I'd have told her come on down. It was 2 hour wait to get close to here even if you could go the back way.
School was out for the entire week in most of middle Tennessee. The days I did work I had to send Christopher to daycare. He really does not like to go, he says the other kids are mean. Really who watches these kids, do they send them to the gym and let them beat the crap out of each other. I so wish I had somewhere else to send him for the summer.

More Strep

On April 6th I took the Roo to the doctor. He had strep. He is in the mood to not want to take meds so I had them give him a shot. He cried some not to bad. Afterward he kept saying "they hurt me, mommy they hurt me". It was so precious and sad. At least I'm not fighting him to take the meds for a week. Christopher was on spring break and went with us. He has yet to get the strep, but I told him if he does get it he will also be getting a shot. So he stayed clear of Roo for a while.
We are doing cub scouts. It is crazy and madding. We meet so much Mikie has a cow about it. I have training on Saturday all day long. I don't have to do this stuff, but I like getting to be a part of it.

Strep

I have strep throat. Mandy and Dane have it so I'm guessing that is where I got it from. Christopher and Zack were at mamaw's Saturday night, but they do not have it, they passed it over to me.

Two Year Check Up

Zack had his 2 year check up yesterday. He is 3 feet tall, that's 64% of his class. He weighed 28.5 lbs. that's 43% of his class. He doesn't look that skinny. I do have a hard time getting bluejeans to fit him. 2T's are the right length but fall off his butt, and he is getting interested in potty training, just imagine when he gets out of diapers nothing will fit him. He did really good getting his shot and finger pricked. He cried just a little at the shot, but really cried when she put the band aid on his finger. It had to come off, then he moved to the one on his leg and he pulled it off. He was jumping in front of the doctor, kinda like a rabbit with both feet off the floor, she was impressed that he could do that.
Christopher is trucking along with reading. At the begining of the year I was kinda worried about him. He was reading at a Kindergarden level. Now he is getting into a second grade level. He is doing pretty good with his spelling word also. Just last week he didn't get them very good even by Friday morning. I drilled him from the time he got up til he got out of the car on his words and he made a 90. I was thrilled.

Lost Tooth

Christopher lost his first tooth last Friday. He was so excited. He didn't remember it even coming out so we did not have a tooth to put under his pillow, but the tooth fairy let him money anyways. I guess she always knows.

Roo is talking like crazy. He can say almost anything and gets most name rights. He is starting to remember things. He still loves Mickey Mouse. We are going to take him to see Mickey with my mom and dad later in the year.
